Welcome, dear historian!

The Swiss Network of Female Historians is an association for the advancement of women* in the field of history. Since 2019, we have been connecting female* historians working in various fields: as freelance historians, in academia, archives, cultural organisations, in public administration or the private sector. We advocate for gender parity and equity for women* in the field of history on all academic and other professional levels.

We use the terms “female*” or “women*” to address all women, non-binary, or genderqueer people who experience structural discrimination on the basis of their gender.

Our main activities include:

  • organising network apéros in various cities and regions of Switzerland
  • guided tours and other group events for members
  • online roundtables with talks, podium discussions and online apéros
  • a blog publishing research, op-eds and personal experiences
  • workshops for members.
